I also have a wood pellet burning stove, that seems to be o.k., but only in the room where it is, the heat doesn’t circulate throughout the house. The slab is extremely cold in winter. Also I have a new puppy who sometimes misses her wee- wee pad. Will that ruin the flooring and or radiant padding?
Also if you feel the radiant padding is worth while is it worth having a programable thermostat or will one with no programing options suffice?

I’m redoing my kitchen from the floor up. I will have a 3/4″ sub floor, then hot water tubes running through aluminum channels. This leaves a surface that is very flat, with just small unevenness at each tube. Is it enough to lay 1/4″ plywood over that, then the vinyl flooring? Or does there need to be a thicker plywood layer at that point?
