The slab is extremely cold in winter. Also I have a new puppy who sometimes misses her wee- wee pad. Will that ruin the flooring and or radiant padding?
Also if you feel the radiant padding is worth while is it worth having a programable thermostat or will one with no programing options suffice?

I’m redoing my kitchen from the floor up. I will have a 3/4″ sub floor, then hot water tubes running through aluminum channels. This leaves a surface that is very flat, with just small unevenness at each tube. Is it enough to lay 1/4″ plywood over that, then the vinyl flooring? Or does there need to be a thicker plywood layer at that point?
